Science

The sixth grade science curriculum includes many aspects of Earth, Physical and Life sciences.  Some topics of study include:  Solid Earth, Earth in Space and Time, Energy, Changes in Matter, Ecosystems and Organization of Living Things.

FOSS-Full Option Science System kits have been added to the middle school curriculum.  Students are familiar with this inquiry-based learning. We are using FOSS to enhance our teaching of the Michigan Science GLCEs. (Grade Level Content Expectations).

We refer to several Science Explorer Textbooks (Prentice Hall Publisher) throughout the year. Science Explorer textbooks are available online.  FOSS textbooks are used as resource. They can be taken home on a checkout basis.
