6th grade Technology Education helps students begin to understand the technological world around them. Many activities are presented and are related to various Engineering Career pathways. Problem solving is stressed thru activities such as packaging design, electricity and electronics, energy, simple machines, etc.
The 6th grade class is currently studying Packaging Engineering. We are learning how to read a ruler to make measurements, how a pattern is developed to make a paperboard box, the difference between 2D drawings and 3D objects, and how to use drafting instruments to make drawings.
The final project will be to design a package
that will protect a raw egg when dropped from the ceiling in our room.
