7th Grade Spanish is a fast-paced 10 week introduction to the language of Spanish and to the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

This program is designed to provide your student with a very basic overview of the Spanish language and vocabulary and to build interest in further studying the language.

If your student plans to continue studying Spanish, a Spanish/English Dictionary would be beneficial for them.

This Spanish I class is identical to the 9th grade Spanish I class offered at Marine City and St Clair High Schools. Students that pass Spanish I in the 8th grade will be eligible to enter directly into Spanish II at the high school. To succeed students will need to practice speaking Spanish daily outside of the classroom.

Free Food Friday

In eighth grade only, students will be allowed to have between 3 and 4 Free Food Fridays per semester. Free Food Friday is a cooking day where students plan a specific menu in groups. Each member of the group brings in one or two of the ingredients for the meal. This is a method for students to make the foods they like while practicing skills in group interaction, responsibility and time management.

Students are STRONGLY discouraged from bringing any pre made foods.  This is an opportunity for the students to enhance their cooking skills; this objective is not often obtained when cooking with box meals and frozen foods.
