This award is named in honor of the former teacher and theatre director at St. Clair High School.  Our research, shows that Ms. Travis was the originator of a theatre program at St. Clair High School in 1926.  Mrs. Travis continued as St. Clair High’s theatre director until her retirement in 1964.  Ms. Travis dedicated THIRTY-NINE years of her life to theatre - that is SEVENTY-EIGHT productions!  This award is a tribute to her incredible commitment to the performing arts and the students of St. Clair.

This award is named after another former teacher and theatre director at St. Clair High School.  Mr. Weber was involved in many activities at St. Clair High.    Mr. Weber began directing theatre at St. Clair High in 1964 and continued to direct a junior and senior class play until just before his retirement in 1989.  Based on our information, Mr. Weber was the first to produce a musical at St. Clair High with the Mikado in 1964 and the H.M.S. Pinafore in 1965.  Overall, Mr. Weber directed high school theatre for TWENTY-SIX years and we estimate just over THIRTY productions.  This award is a tribute to his  commitment to the performing arts and the students of St. Clair.
