Health Insurance for Children
Michigan offers two health insurance programs, MIChild and Healthy Kids for children up to their 19th birthday who qualify. The cost is $10 per family per month or no cost, depending on the child's eligibility. The comprehensive health insurance coverage includes:

Doctor visits and health check ups Physical Therapy
Family Planning Prenatal Care and Support Services
Hearing and Speech Therapy Substance Abuse Services
Hospital Care Surgery

Laboratory/X-Ray Tests Well-child Visits
Medical Supplies
MIChild / Healthy Kids applications are available at your school and through the Outreach Program, St. Clair County Health Department at (810) 987-5300. To facilitate the application process, Michigan Department of Community Health and e-Michigan have updated the on-line application for enrolling in the programs. To apply on-line, families can access the new website at www.healthcare4mi.com.
